"Schlag den Raab" (Beat Your Host) is back
Frankfurt, September 02, 2010 – This surefire party hit will be available in stores from September 10. Eight days before the show returns after the summer break (8.15pm on Saturday, 18 September on German channel Pro7), fans will be able to play mini-games from the popular TV show in their own living room with up to 4 players on Wii and 2 players on PC. Players can also compete against the host himself, a virtual Stefan Raab, in a round of "Schlag den Raab". The original voices of the presenter, Matthias Opdenhövel and Elton, your host in "Shame or Cash", will recreate the unique atmosphere of the award-winning TV show, with occasional wisecracks from Stefan of course! Players will also meet all the well-loved game characters as humorous caricatures in comic strip style.
Players can demonstrate their knowledge and skill in 21 different quiz, action and luck games from the original show. Apart from the popular "Blackjack" card game, players can also enjoy "Schlag den Raab" favorites such as "Flags", "What is it?" and "Mental Arithmetic", where candidates must put their math skills to the test. Similar to the TV show, each contest will last for up to 15 rounds, and candidates who beat the host can use their virtual prize money to unlock more extras in the bonus system. Players who have mastered "Schlag den Raab" in their own living room are already well equipped to attempt a real life face-off with Stefan Raab on TV!
"Schlag den Raab" will be released in September 2010 on Nintendo Wii and PC at a RRP of 49.99€ for the Nintendo Wii game and 29.99€ for the PC version. The title has been developed by Darmstadt developers Spielkind and published in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by NAMCO BANDAI Partners Germany, with bitComposer Games as co-publishers.
The game was licensed by BRAINPOOL Artist and Content Services GmbH in Cologne, and produced as a game in close coordination and collaboration with the "Schlag den Raab" production company.
